Accelerating the transition towards the Bio-Based Economy via Education

The ABBEE (Accelerating the transition towards the Bio-Based Economy via Education) project aims to enhance Europe’s competitive position in the field of bio-based economy and prepare students for their future in a bio-based economy by improving education and facilitating innovation.

The strategic partnership ABBEE collaborated with the University of Hohenheim on the MOOC “Concepts of Sustainable Bioeconomy”. The course consists of 5 main sections: Bioeconomy concepts, Biobased value chains and webs, Measuring sustainability in the bioeconomy, Bioeconomy in the digital era and Innovation and Governance for the transition towards a sustainable bioeconomy. The course targets students at a master’s level, future employers of bioeconomy students, interdisciplinary professionals in the bioeconomy sector, including industry and persons interested in life long learning (LLL) and sustainability.
